Best bets for Friday, October 30, 2026

Friday's board leans on two home underdogs in college football. Charlotte hosting Tulane and Sacramento State hosting Kent State rank first and second, and both are priced near 3-to-1. The NBA has Knicks at 76ers, and the NHL has two games further down. A note on the numbers: expected profit is a long-run average per $100 over many similar bets. It is not a forecast for any single game, and an underdog pick will lose more often than it wins.

Charlotte to beat Tulane

Our top pick is Charlotte to win outright at +285 at MyBookie.ag. The game kicks off at 7:00 PM ET. A $100 bet at that price returns $285 in profit if Charlotte wins. The model puts the long-run edge at +$7.64 per $100 and bases it on 847 look-alike games. Those are past matchups with a similar line, the same home-or-away setup and similar rest. In games like this, the home underdog has won a bit more often than a +285 price implies. Charlotte's home field is a big part of that.

Sacramento State to beat Kent State

The late game follows the same pattern. Sacramento State is +275 at Fanatics against Kent State, kicking off at 10:30 PM ET. The expected profit is +$6.73 per $100, from the same pool of 847 look-alike games. The reasoning is the same as for Charlotte: home underdogs in this price range have tended to win more often than the market expects. You'd be betting that this game is another case where the home team is underrated.

Knicks to win in Philadelphia

The Knicks are -104 at FanDuel at Philadelphia at 7:30 PM ET, which makes this close to an even-money bet. The expected profit is +$5.98 per $100, based on 2,022 look-alike games. The model thinks this game is closer to a true toss-up than the price suggests, and road teams in similar spots have done slightly better than this line implies.

The rest of the list starts with the over 47.5 in Tulane at Charlotte at -105 on DraftKings (+$3.27, 1,596 games). Next come UCF to beat Baylor at -102 on FanDuel (+$3.10, 1,115 games) and the over 47.5 in that game at -109 on BetRivers (+$2.11, 1,596 games). In hockey, there's Winnipeg +1.5 at Florida at -135 on DraftKings (+$2.57, 2,073 games) and the over 6.5 in New Jersey at Vegas at +110 on DraftKings (+$1.81, 3,668 games). Charlotte (the Hornets this time) to win at Washington at -115 on DraftKings rounds out the list at +$1.50 (2,022 games). One caution: Philadelphia -1.5 at -105 on FanDuel (+$1.61, 2,233 games) takes the opposite side from our third pick. The model sees small pricing gaps on both sides, but those two bets can't both win. If Philadelphia wins by exactly one point, both lose. Treat them as separate long-run bets, not a pair. The edges at the bottom of the list are thin, so small changes in the price can wipe them out.
